Need a Mountain Biker for a shoot on Saturday!

Help! Any cyclists with a mountain bike in MSP area interested in being in a commercial? We would need you this weekend...  all meals and beer included!!! (and it should be fun!) Should take about a half day or so - we are hoping to do it Saturday the 25th of June - maybe Sunday if it works better. Let me know if you anyone who might be interested! PLEASE - RSVP to humideye@gmail.com with your phone # - I will call you right away...

More INFO:

We will be going up to Intersate Park (about 57min away) and getting shots on the rocky trails and a few near the water and cliffs. I will be driving - I do not have mount on my car for a bike. I'm hoping I can fold down the back seats of my car and it will fit somehow.  :)

You will need to sign a model release. Unfortunately we cannot afford to pay other than food/bevrage/gas compensation. The client has a very small budget and we are doing this on the cheep. BUT you will be in a really cool internet commercial though and can brag to your friends!

The product is really cool, I cant say much about it other than it uses this same technology: http://www.boatechnology.com/

If you get conformation from me - please make sure that any clothing that you ware has absolutely NO logos on on them - just plain solid colors - no patterns or printing. That includes shoes - if you do not have a pair without marks - let me know, give me your size and I can get some and bring them with.

I have a FEW prospects - but nothing nailed down - I would also like to get a few back ups just in case!
Sent me a note VIA humideye@gmail.com WITH your phone # and I will get back to you asap for a RSVP and more details.

THANKS! - Maranatha

First commercial at The Shinebox

Picture it. A bunch of cats, a kitten newly named Walter, a VERY talented child actor, a whole lot of phones, purse contents, man-bag contents, my boss Randy, my co-worker Melanie (with a steller manicure by the way) a bunch of lights and some very talented crew at Creative Images. All in one day. ALL IN ONE DAY. The rest of the piece was finished in ONE week. I was privileged enough to work on it from concepting to directing to editing & animating. Michael did the fantastic 3D renders and animations of the phones, and Randy was there EVERY step of the way. (Thanks!!!)

Did I mention that I love this job?

Design for Take it Outside // State Fair

(download)

Every year around this time (a week ago especially) is the time of year that I stop sleeping, stop showering, stop seeing people or calling them, or basically everything... Why? Because I'm designing things, installing carpet, moving boxes, putting together Ikea furnature... (and so much more) for the WCCO booth in prep for the great MN get together... the state fair. While this sounds like some crazy torture train that I'm on - the truth is - I love every single minute of it. The results of this years fair are here... glowing and shiny and hopefully happy. Although this year we are all missing WEpower ( http://bit.ly/ckj10D ) Take it outside is taking a few names. Well, at least the work is always worth it... :)

Working a new identity

This week has been busy, but I've been having a blast. This weekend I created an identity system for a new start up production company working with the amazing and beautiful Beth Van Dam and Frenchy Lunning) - both of these ladies I can tell you are AMAZING to work with. I think they are happy so far... now lets' see what I can do with the animated version :)

The Power of Motion Graphics

I had a wonderfully talented group of students this past semester at MCAD in the Design Certificate program. We had long classes (7 hours each / with a hour lunch break) that lasted for 13 weeks. In that time some of them went from fear and sometimes terror at the idea of creating design that moves - to joy and even fun. The best part - the work was wonderful! The final assignment was to take a TED talk (one of their choice) and edit the audio down to about 60sec and then create an info-graphics motion piece based on it. After class was over a few of them sent their final work to the original speakers of those TED talks and were extreamly well recived:

Mark Bittman posted Ben Johnson's piece on his blog:  http://markbittman.com/click-here-to-set-a-post-title-143

Another student Emily Erickson received a note from Dan Barbar after she sent him her Motion piece based on his talk. "Emily!  This is incredible!  A million thanks for making me seem so...cool?  You ought to come and visit Blue Hill.  I'd love to meet you in person."  Dan

Ahhh.. the power of the internet. (& of course - motion graphics!!!)

I'm so proud of them!
